The Vogum Blog
A window into our vision.
January 1st, 2023.
Vogum is a web application designed for music teachers, music theory influencers, content creators, students, and anyone with a curiosity for music.
We are mission-driven, and our mission is to make people smarter through the understanding of music. That's the ultimate goal down the road, the extra mile.
We want everyone to be able to see what lies within music: symmetry, proportion, beauty, emotion, poetry, rhythm, movement, and vibration. Music is evocative, transgressive, provocative, and immersive. It would be ludicrous to enumerate all that music is.
To accomplish this, we are creating fantastic tools to display music concepts in different ways, combining concepts from different cultures, in search of the Universal in music.
Vogum uses state-of-the-art web technologies, as we believe the web is the ultimate platform to deploy software, democratizing access for everyone, available on Linux, Windows, Macs, Android phones, iPhones, and even new devices like VR headsets. Just type the URL and you're in, no need to go through a proprietary store.
Vogum is a collection of tools for musicians, starting from the most essential like the Metronome, the Tuner, the Circle of Fifths, the Guitar Chords builder, and the Harmony Explorer; to advanced visualizations like the Custom View Creator, in which you can combine all kinds of tools in different layouts, providing an ever-growing set of endless possibilities.
On top of that, we offer several virtual reality and augmented reality experiences, in which we explore the possibilities of these new technologies to play music, navigate music content, and visualize music in new, fun, and interesting ways.
Recently, we also integrated Vogum with AI (ChatGPT) to offer a chat interface in which you can ask the bot music theory questions. Then the bot responds with both text and instrument charts and diagrams from Vogum.
We want music teachers, content creators, musicians, students, and anyone interested in approaching music to have Vogum as their all-in-one solution for all kinds of musical activities, whether they are teaching, learning, sharing something, practicing with a friend, or just playing a song.
So, when the day ends and the practice is over, they can put Vogum aside, go to a live music concert, and watch musicians play their hearts out on stage, which is the ultimate immersive music experience.
